1874 Scotland & Marlborough College Caps
To the disappointment of many collectors, who only found out after they were auctioned off by Leski Auctioneers of Australia after the sale had taken place. These early examples of early Caps were awarded to Hugh Montgomerie Hamilton. The first being his Scotland Cap dated 1874-75 ‘manufactured by J.C Stewart Clothier, Edinburgh and Manchester’ awarded for the representing Scotland in the International against England in 1874 and also dated 1875 against the same opponents. The second Cap is his Marlborough College Cap.
