2 extremely rare programmes

2010 France v England match programmes - Rugby Memorabilia Society

Original programme (left) and the programme produced within 24hrs (right)

Official 2010 France v England match day programmes. The very rare original match day programme (left) which the French Rugby Federation decided to pull from sale and pulp as it contained a controversial article on Riki Flutey (England no.12 Centre) who played for Brive. The decision to pull the programme from general sale was made by the then FFR president Pierre Camou. 35,000 of these programmes had been printed, most of which were then scrapped (but a few have managed to make it into collector’s hands).

A smaller match day programme was hastily produced (pictured right), an almost text-free issue of which 1400 were produced the day before the game. These were distributed to corporate guests and members of the media on the day of the game. Both in their own rights are now very rare and desirable.

France won the match 12 points to 10 (with Morgan Parra kicking 3 penalties & a drop goal by Trinh-Duc securing the victory for the host team).

These programmes were recently sold at the recent
Mullocks Rugby & football memorabilia sale on 26-03-2018 and achieved - £340 hammer
