The First Lions by Hans Saestad
South African author Hans Saestad has just completed another book titled ‘The First Lions’. The book covers the adventures of the 1924 British team in South Africa. It consists of 162 pages and has a hard cover (A4). It is illustrated and includes all the statistics regarding the tour, match reports and all the challenges the team had on the tour. He has also included the British team that toured Argentina in 1927. It is one of the so called “Forgotten Tours”.
The books sell for R460, excluding postage.

Hans Saestad was brought up in Nigel (Gauteng) and completed his studies at Potchefstroom University and Unisa. Although he excelled in athletics, the Springbok rugby history always fascinated him. This is his twelfth book, recording facts that can only be found by thorough research.
Currently he is the principal at Vorentoe High School in Johannesburg.
